virus or stupidity?

Hi,

I use a Sygate firewall on my XP Thinkpad to protect me from viruses
and so on when I am not in the office and it works fine. Yesterday I
received a message from the firewall that my explorer.exe wants to
access the network. accidently I granted it.

Now I have no favorits anymore (the directory exists, the links too,
but they are not displayed). I used OfficeScan but no virus was
detected. I deleted any temporary internet file and cookie but the
problem is still there.

My question: What has happend to poor little ThinkPad? Which virus
snared it and how can I get rid of the infection?
