Hi,
I have a curious problem: I have to wait about 12 hours between power
off boots. I I boot eralier, bios cannot find hard drives at all.
FIrst I thought that it is about cold soldering and cooling down
issue, but is it actually time dependent?

Is there a worm which can do this? I have scanned the system with
McAfee at latest sdat level.

Regards
Mat (pinehigh@hotmail.com)

My first guess would be a dying cmos battery.

Just in case, have you scanned your system with an up-to--date
virus scanner?

I think that this is a job for a bench technician.
A failing (or underpowered) power supply might do this.
Some BIOSes have an option in the CMOS setup
program to place a time delay before disk access
is attempted so as to allow a greater spinup interval.

It doesn't sound malware related to me.
