McAfee virus scan ver 7

Installed McAfee antivirus about 1 yr ago without installing the firewall.
More recently, uninstalled & reinstalled the prog. in order to install the
firewall. Now I get the following message that pops up every couple of
days:

UPDATE MCAFEE VIRUSSCAN (DAT) FILES

"You need to update your Virus Definitions to ensure you have the most
up-to-date virus protection.
McAfee VirusScan includes twelve (12) months of free virus protection
updates obtained using Instant Updater. This is your eleventh month
warning, you must renew your supscription in order to update your virus
protection. Your product will continue to function if you do not renew your
supscription."

If I click on "help" I am brought to the McAfee website. If I click
"purchase"
or "cancel" the popup disappears. I tried to get info from the website, but
I can't find anything relating to this. I tried to send them an online
message, but when it got to the "send" point, it kept asking for a phone
number, I type in the number and it keeps asking for it again.

Any time I open the antivirus program and click on update, I can download
the latest data files. So,
my question is:

why am I getting this popup and how can I get rid of it? This has only
happened since I uninstalled/reinstalled.

Now this program came in 2 boxes that I purchased at Sam's. VirusScan and
Quickclean came together.
