Post subject: virus that prevent norton antivirus from installing

Are there any virus' that prevent you from being able to install Norton
anti-virus.

If yes what are their names.

Symantec have long taken the view that it is not safe to install NAV on
an infected machine. Unfortunately, although the installer will scan for
the presence of viruses I do not recall that it will offer to disinfect
your files.

simply saying which virus it thinks is there would often times be
enough - then a dedicated removal tool could be used...
