I'm assuming you're talking about the link spammed to multiple
newsgroups today?

McAfee should detect it ... I tried with month old dats (and no
heuristics etc) and it was.

Well, KAV offers (multiple) daily updates. So new malware can be
detected earlier on systems.

But there's another point: Heuristics (KAV has got a special heuristic
fpr this worm) and unpacking (cause many worms are runtime packed,
crypted, patched, etc.). So it's a question of scan engine and signature
quality, too.
