I was using NAV 5 on W98 just fine - didn't have SE though. I could
still get updates for definitions files but not for program updates, so
I eventually went with AVG because program updates are more important
IMO than just virus definition files.

One poster (Virus Guy IIRC) did some research and insists that NAV2002
was still getting *both* definitions and program updates after repeated
reinstalls to extend its subscription life.
