update mcafee on w98se?

I have 2 partitoins on my laptop.

w98se and w2k, mcafee proffesional 7.02 on both.

since the sdat update file now contains the new engine too, it refuses
to update on w98se, saying no updatable produkt found. It works all
fine on w2k however.

Can someone tell me what file does the validating on w2k and if this
then could be copied to w98se so the validating and thus updating from
sdat file would work here as well?


I treid to copy all possible obvious inclusive all parts of the new
engine 5 to the w98se. All works, but the update via sdat still not.


any mcafee experts around?
