Post subject: McAfee won't update

I've had several calls from XP Pro users who are getting an error when
they try to update VirusScan, saying the Common Framework can't start.
Re-install of VirusScan has been tried. Updating seems to be fine on my
Win2000 box, and direct application of the SDAT works. Anybody got any
ideas? I'm wondering if the latest bunch of Windows Updates broke
something.

What version I would assume vs7 as you said sdat works and that is not
compatible with vs8.

I havent seen that error can you post the full message and I will check
around.
