F-Prot for Dos on XP - Hi, please forgive a possibly stupid Question. Before switching to WinXP I just got used to F-Prot for Dos. I think it's usefull to scan now and then before starting the OS. Now with WinXP I do miss this Win 98 just for F-Prot..

NTFS, F-Prot like scanner - Is there a virsus scanner that anyone knows of that scans a NTFS volume before Windows loads?
Next:  F-prot DOS run in Windows DOS BOX or real mode MS..

Slow as hell downloading from ftp://ftp.f-prot.com/pub/ for about 2 weeks
now.

ntl broadband no problems surfing/downloading anywhere else just f-prot ftp.
Can the newest updates be downloaded anywhere else?

I've been having the same problems on a half-dozen computers but it seems to
have cleared up within the last day.

I'm in the US and noted it was trying to update from EUR- servers. It would
always fail, timeouts. Now it's using using us-2.updates.f-prot.net and it
seems ok.

This has happened before sporadically though, so I would be interested in
finding out what's going on. There's no info about the problems at their
site and the form you have to fill out to send a support request takes so
long to fill out I haven't bothered.

D/L'ed 2 days ago, w/o any problems (very good speed).
The d/l speed varies greatly (as bad as double the "normal").
Generaly, daytime (EST) on weekends is hopeless.

FWIW: Attempt to d/l macrdef2.zip. If the time exceeeds whatever
you consider "good" for your connection, try again later. Note
that's on a dialup -- IMMV.
