Hi All,

My system has become dead slow may be due to some trojan, virus,
spyware....

It is an official laptop with CA antivirus installed on it. I ran it
several time but it is not detecting what is the problem.

Please let me know what should i do?

Characteristic:

Sytem booting normally.
logging in as a user taking unusally more time.
just get 5-7 secs of time when it works normally...
rest of the time it is dormant don't responds to any clicks..

Please help

Tried Safe Mode?
Tried sitting it on top of a couple of pencils so plenty of air
gets to the fans? I keep seeing mahcines that are overheating -
but generally they crash properly.

Keep tapping f8 while the thing's booting up, you'll get a menu
When it's up, do a full scan.
Since you have CA, try scanning with both the Vet and Inoculate
engines.

After the software is downloaded and updated, it is suggested scanning the
system in Safe Mode.

How do you boot to Safe Mode?

By pressing/tabbing F8 (or F5 on some computers/keyboards) during re-boot.

Alternatively,
click onto Start==>Run, type "msconfig" (without quotation marks), click OK.
Then click onto BOOT.INI tab and 'check' /SAFEBOOT then OK and click
Restart.
To go back to Normal Mode, you must access the System Configuration utility
again and click the General tab then click/check the radio button 'Normal
Startup'
- load all device drivers and services'.

Alternatively,
provide
an application called "BootSafe" that simplifies the process of booting to
safe mode. You may access BootSafe from the Start Menu under the
SUPERAntiSpyware folder.
