you, you, you... if the fate of viruses hung in your hands, maybe, but
it doesn't... and even so, you're still not immune...

Clown face:

You inferred Linux is FREE of infectors. I list a PILE of Linux infectors and you call ME
dumba$$.
Get off your Linux high-chair and spend some time and research each and every listed
infector and find out what each one does.

I could also provide a pile of Linux vulnerabilities. I could start off with the Adobe PDF
reader vulnerability. The ONLY OS I know that has an extremely low vulnerability rate and
tiny list of infectors designed for that OS is Netware.

I think MVS and VMS would qualify -- but not for practical use.

Indeed.

What the Linux Clown (not sure of his actual handle at the moment) is
saying is that he uses good practices on his Linux box, so he is safe.
Just as a Windows user who uses good practices is safe.

I'm not a Windows fan, so I'm not doing this to defend MS at all, I
just don't believe in using FUD to promote Linux.

I run Red Hat 9 on my home PC. It seems I get at least one update a
week via Up2date to close some vulnerability. Patches come faster in
the Linux community as opposed to Windows simply due to open source
and many skilled programmers around the world working on the various
facets, I will say that. I also will say that IIS seems extremely
prone to holes.

don't have to... viruses are a feature of general purpose computers, it
doesn't matter what operating system you have, virus infection is still
possible so long as the underlying machine is a general purpose (as
opposed to special purpose - ie. calculator) computer...

just because you're unlikely to become infected (for a variety of
reasons), doesn't mean you're immune...
