I'll tell ya, this isn't my week. I downloaded a free screensaver from
what I thought was a reputable site and during the install, it asked me
if I wanteded to install some '3rd party software.' kyeahbutno. As soon
as I clicked the no button, zone alarm went nuts with 5 _different_
programs wanting to connect to the internet. Denied all of those,
stopped the installation, and ran ad-aware and spybot search & destroy.
It found about 35 new files/registry entries etc...I had them fix that
problem, and whattya know, I can no longer connect to the internet.
G'damn new.net. Jumped on my other computer grabbed and ran LSPFix and
fixed that. Not.my.week.

Hi Mike......the guy that owns New.net/Newdot.net kept coming on our MS news
groups ranting at us because we called it spyware a year ago.....he said it
wasn't and that they didn't do sneaky stuff.....hmmm. Even threatened
lawsuits....but no, it isn't sneaky downloads now, is it. Bwa ha ha. I
would have to look up his name, but sure could find it fast

I find it disconcerting that I could be sued for mentioning new.net in a NG.
