I don't know which ones are the very best, but you should run at least two
different ones on demand.
I use the following three programs, which are all free.
1)SuperAntispyware
2)MalWareByte's Anti-Malware
3)SpywareBlaster

PS: I liked SAS so much I paid for it. The free version will find and remove
everything the paid version does.
However, the free version is on-demand only while the paid version is
real-time protection and checks certain places upon bootup and shutdown, if
you set it that way.
The link given by jack worked fine for me, but I always download programs
from their home sites.

Link does not work.
I download the software from the site of the originator.

You could try this:

- Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.30
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
- SuperAntiSpyware 4.22.1014
http://www.superantispyware.com/download.html
- Spybot Search&Destroy 1.6.0
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html

Why would Spyware Doctor be "the best" anti-spyware?
The combination of SAS and MBAM is better.

Do you see any security software?
I think the link should be:
http://freewarehome.com/System_Utilities/Security/Anti_Ads_and_Spyware_t.html
In my browser (Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.1Cool this shows a completely
different page.

Look at the two links. They are different. The first will take you to
http://freewarehome.com/index.htm -- the main page at the site. The
link is a combination of two.

The second link above is to the page you really wanted.

That's a possibility. There could be a difference in how a browser
interprets the malformed first link.

I was also using Firefox 3.0.4 albeit with a different operating system.
It also works the same for me with the latest Opera browser (two
different pages).

'Tis that.
