how "necessary" further are the above mentioned programs when using
todays "all in one" protections as Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0,
BitDefender Internet Security 9.0 etc.?

I'd say it depends on your ability to practice Safe Hex. <g>

I run the two "above mentioned programs" [1] maybe twice a month and
they never find anything. I know others who run them daily and they
*always* find bad stuff.

If one *needs* them, one is doing something wrong.

[1] It would be nice if you wrote your query in the body of the message,
as well as picking a good subject line.

For ther same reason I include four different AV vendor scanners in the Multi AV Scanning
Tool.

One may catch what another may miss.

Ad-Aware and Spybot - When I use Ad-Aware first and then Spybot, Spybot never finds anything extra. Is it waste of time to use both then? Roman P.S. If I sent similar posting already then accept please my apologies, cannot find it.

Pinging all the experts here -->Zone Alarm anti-spyware ju.. - I usually run an Avast bootscan along with Ad-Aware and Spybot once a week. Today I did all three PLUS ran a Zone Alarm full system scan: Here's what Zone Alarm just quarantined and the other three missed: Win32.YOK.SuperSearch Trojan ..

Ad-aware - Ad-aware SE v1.04 has just been released. Installed and working well. I have a minor problem with the uninstall process for Ad-aware SE. When I installed v1.03 it left behind the Ad-aware 6 directory and 2 sub-directories ...

Ad-Aware SE 1.04 - Believe it or not, Ad-Aware SE has just been updated again, to version 1.04.
