Post subject: AVG sceduled System-scan and different accounts on Windows XP: question
Archived from groups: alt>comp>anti-virus (more info?)

I've just upgraded from Win2k Pro to Win XP Pro, and downloaded and
installed the latest AVG-free edition under the Administrator-account.

It seems that AVG is running under each account, which is fine, but when a
scheduled system-scan is started, it does so for each logged-on user (today
I had 4 system-scans running at the same time).

Can I avoid that? And still run a scheduled system scan? I know I can start
the scan manually, but since I want it to run during the night, I'd like to
avoid that.

Thanks in advance

Michel

I could never get AVG pro to work properly in a multiuser environment on
XP Pro, despite a lengthy correspondence with AVG support, so I got my
money back and spent it on NOD32.

Im not sure if this would work but you could make and place a new shortcut
to run the full test in task sheduler or some other sheduling/start/run
programme rather than run from AVG sheduled test. The path for the new
shortcut would be (assuming you use "normal" path).
Complete Scan Path:-

"C:\Program Files\Grisoft\AVG6\AVGW.EXE" /NOSPLASH/PLAN/NTEST
