Post subject: how to scan and disinfect NTFS from a floppy AV?
Archived from groups: alt>comp>virus (more info?)

I have been trying to find a way to boot a pc with the
ntfs file system and scan and clean with f-prot for dos from
a floppy(s).

Winternals ntfsdos prof. 4.0 according to Winternals emails to
my questions, will not work. They said the pc must be on a
domain or have a hostname that is registered/licensed for
the product else it will not work.

No good, I want to be able to boot ANY ntfs pc and scan
from floppy.

McAfee Cleanboot is a beta and scans but will not clean.

So how does one scan and disinfect a pc with ntfs?

Thanks,
Lee

I've tried the CleanBoot Beta 2.0 on WinME, Win2K and WinXP. I can't get the
product to format the floppies and write the files properly to the three floppy
disks. My sources at NAI/McAfee say it still in the works.

How did you get your floppies to be generated ?

Dave
