Archived from groups: alt>comp>anti-virus (more info?)

This IP is constantly trying to connect to my computer. My Norton Internet
Security says it Microsoft, a trusted site. But I can't track the IP back
and get the following:-
192.168.0.100 is an IP address reserved for non-routed networks. That means
it may be used on any number of private networks and doesn't connect to the
internet at large (except, maybe, via application level gateways or NATs).
See RFC 1918 Address Allocation for Private Internets

Any ideas??

try ping -a 192.168.0.100

My bet is that you'll find it's the router/gateway on your own network,
or your DHCP server (which may be the same thing). It certainly isn't
somewhere out on the WWW.

You don't have a wireless LAN do you?

192.168.0.100 is an internal IP adres, so it's not from outside... maybe
another computer/router in your network....

good luck....
