Post subject: Fridrik Skulason - Configuring F-Prot in WinXP
Archived from groups: alt>comp>anti-virus, others (more info?)

I have F-Prot for Windows 3.15b running on all of my systems Most of them
are running Win98SE. ( I have a number of licenses )

On my Win98SE systems I can specify what type of files Real Time Protector
scans but not in NT4, Win2k or WinXP

I have 2 laptops running WinXP and I'd like to be able to change some F-Prot
configurations. For example:

1) How to I keep F-prot from checking CDs?

2) How can I tell what files it scans?

3) Suggestion: It would be nice to be able to disable F-Prot Antivirus
Update Monitor without having to go into Services of MSConfig. Every time I
do a version update, I have to do this over again.

On the road, I put my IBM X31 or 240x in and out of suspension by opening or
closing the lid 5 to 10 times a day. Update Monitor was causing these
systems to hang coming out of suspension until I disabled it. It appeared
that Update Monitor was looking for a net connection.

Thanks,

Post subject: How do I get rid of Error-348 [Login to view extended thread Info.]
Archived from groups: per prev. post (more info?)

How do I get rid of "Error-348"

I have tracked down this nuisance as reportedly being from a virus called
"TrojLoony". An "Error-348 Runtime Link not found" box pops up on
Windows boot-up. I have found one 24K "file" named "TrojLoonyj.html"
with an IE logo preceding it in My Window files.

I run Windows 98 and use PCcillin.

What other mischief does this bug do?

How do I get rid of it?
Can I safely delete this file?

Any help will be appreciated.

Dann
