Still can't get rid of this damn search popup

Shortly after getting on the Net my computer goes to a search page, usually
after typing in the first page I want to go to, and it comes up much like a
popup. I can close it by using ctrl+alt+del, but it's a real nuisance. It
does not come back the rest of that session, no matter how long I hang on
the Net. When I first get on IE does go to my home page, so my original
home page has not been hijacked.

Following previous advice I got here, using Ad Aware has not helped, and
Hijack This isn't doing me a lot of good, as most of what I'm seeing there
looks legit, or I don't know what I'm looking at.

I'm pretty damn sure this is not a virus, as scans show nothing. Just a
nuisance.

Anybody else dealt with this?
