I'm looking for one that reflects the memory used by each active process.
My Avast AV program seems to be a memory hog, and I have a feeling that my
Win 2000 task manager (and Win XP on another machine) don't tell the whole
story. I have 384 mg ram installed and I'm constantly down to about 175 mg
free.
The MS beta anti-spyware seems to be quite a memory hog, too. >> Stay informed about: Can anyone recommend a good free process watcher utility? |

I would if I could find it in system tools. Is this something that doesn't
load as a default, and you have to go back to your OS disk and load it?
Right now, I'm using Sysinternals Process Exp which is probaby a front end
to it. >> Stay informed about: Can anyone recommend a good free process watcher utility? |

I'm running it and see nothing happening. No graph - nothing.
I'll have to stick with sysinternals stuff. I wonder why they never added
the link to system tools? >> Stay informed about: Can anyone recommend a good free process watcher utility? |

Like I said before, if you select a running process in the upper pane and
right-click it and select Properties, it will tell you everything about the
running process --- everything. The lower pane is to show what DLL(s)/etc
are running in the same address space and processing thread as the running
process and using that process to execute and their locations on the media
device such as HDD, Floppy, CD etc.

All that will start to change when programmers start writting more and more
Windows-based applications using .NET as .Net applications do not register
DLL(s) in the Registry preventing the DLL Hell situation.
