Can't install or uninstall McAfee

I use Registry Mechanic, with no problems (yet ). In fact, I've
sometimes had to remove some keys by hand after using it.

Pete, your correct, that I should have worked with Avast, but not knowing
if they would reply in a couple of days, or weeks, I felt I had no other
choice but to reformat. I wanted to be protected, but not have two programs
on the PC, and one that wouldn't work, not knowing what problem may arise
from it.
