I recently upgraded from PC-cillin IS 2006 to 2007 and straight away my PC
slowed.
The culprit is the spyware process that scans everything you do on your PC.
It is called PcScnSrv.exe.
Even when opening MS Word this process hogs over 98% of the CPU. Opening
html documents etc etc etc.
I contacted Trend Micro and they said it was probably a bad file download
and they suggested that I install the latest build 1429 (I had 1329). This
did not help. So I now suspend the process and don't have the problem.
Probably not a good idea but TM haven't answered my request to explain
exactly what the PcScnSrv.exe process does and what vulnerabilities I have
by suspending the process.

I have had Pc-cillin for many years and have been very happy with it up to
now. It will be great once TM can solve this annoying problem. A search of
the internet shows a lot of other disgruntled customers because of this
issue.

PC-Cillin 2007 took me straight back to the dial-up days.
Admittedly, my computer is about four years old, but PC-Cillin 2006
worked fine. After "up"grading to 2007, my computer took forever to
re-boot, and every icon I clicked on took forever to load. Then,
every web link I clicked on took forever to appear. When I checked
the bandwidth of my Cox Cable connection at http://test.lvcm.com/ , it
showed that everything was fine with my Internet connection.

Luckily, when I upgraded to PC-Cillin 2006, I also ordered it
on CD. I uninstalled 2007. The uninstall went fine, if you discount
the fact that it left a bunch of files on my hard drive, a bunch of
entries on my Start menu, and a bunch of stuff in my Windows Registry.
After cleaning all the junk up manually and re-booting, I popped the
CD in, and did a fresh install of PC-Cillin 2006.

The result of all of the above is that I GOT MY COMPUTER BACK!
I am thankful that everything worked out OK in the LONG run. But,
since I have an older computer, even if they fix 2007's problems, I
won't be "up"grading again.
