Hello,

Ive been getting 100's of these 'patch, security' emails with
attachements.

I now delete them at the server and send an automated reply to all incoming
emails with attachments.

1 will they ever stop? Who is sending them?

The email system is becoming unusable because of them.

2 Am I sending the virus back along with my automated reply?

patrick

That's hilarious!! You're now doubling the incoming mail because the return
addresses are either forged or invalid. Even if they are valid,
auto-replying to them will go back to a person who ISN'T infected.

Santa's elves have been taken hostage and used in this horrible experiment
of sending mass emails to total strangers. And you thought, "..he's making a
list.." meant presents! Pffsstthh!

Why not go back a couple weeks in this newsgroup and you'll see what's going
on.

The automated reply (whatever that is) will go to forged
addresses. Many of those addresses are in Microsoft's
domain, and some are just invalid domains. Some may
be valid domains with no such user account so you may
get bounces back from them.

You're pissin' into the wind....

Unlikely (but you can filter them out).

Victims.

Something must be done......eventually.......
(I'm not holding my breath here)

That depends on what you mean by automated reply.
