Hello.
For a while I've been using the free edition of AVG and in general it
appears to work ok.
Something I've noticed though is that I often get a little pop-up
balloon from the AVG icon in the system tray that it's scanning
outgoing emails. I've found in the settings where I can turn this
notification off, but I was wondering if those outgoing emails were an
indication that something might be wrong with the installed software
on my computer, since I only use webmail (yahoo/hotmail/...) myself
and I'm not sending any mail when I receive these outgoing email
scanning notifications. Is it likely my computer is being used by some
mallicious piece of software to randomly mail people occasionally?
kind regards, thx for any feedback, Niek >> Stay informed about: AVG email scanner |

Like I said, I'm happy with the free version and I can turn off the
notifications. So basically, they don't bother me, but I wouldn't like
my computer to send out random emails even if I hardly notice anything
from it.

I think the free version has a few differences from the cheap paid one in
thast you can't turn off email scanning ot the notifications, etc.
If you like it, why not pay the tiny amount they ask?

You can turn off either/both incoming/outgoing email scanning in the
free version.

Why do you post such irrelevant info?
Perhaps you should reread the original posters question and then, if you really
have any pertinent advice, post it.
