I was looking at CA (Computer Associates) website to see what they had
to say about the upcoming Windows XP SP2. Users of eTrust EZ Antivirus
(including myself) will apparently need to download and install an .exe file
to allow the program to work with the new Windows Firewall. Here is part of
the text:

<<Windows XP SP2 introduced a Windows Firewall component. By default the
firewall is set to block ports that eTrust Antivirus needs. We would
recommend to perform the following:
For eAV 6.0, 7.0 and 7.1 installations, please run the AVEnablePorts.exe
utility>>

This is regarding eTrust Antivirus, the CA corporate AV solution. Users of
EZ AV do not need to do anything.

I know I'm right... I work there. :-/

If you have a standalone license of EZAV, grab version 6.3.0.9 (available
within your account) for full WMI integration with the Security Center.
Version 6.2 will run fun and status is detected fine as well.

I'm using the eTrust EZ Antivirus that is offered free of charge to
Road Runner subscribers. Current version is 6.2.1.1.

I see what you mean now. I went back to the CA web page that discusses
SP2 and scrolled further down. I got eTrust Antivirus mixed up with EZ
Antivirus. The site indicates EZ has no reported issues with SP2.

You say you have 6.2.1.1

Isn't EZAV supposed to update its base App with autodownload?
I've been in the 6.2 beta for months and still have ver 6.2.0.21 and engine
11.5.0.0
Do I have to manually download the latest version?

<Isn't EZAV supposed to update its base App with autodownload?>

Engine updates only via AutoDownload... meaning, you can (for example) go
from Engine 11.5 > 11.6.

No product updates (6.2 > 6.3) yet.

<Do I have to manually download the latest version?>

For now, yep.
