Would like to upgrade the existing 3.5 installation to a new box. All
instructions from McAfee I've found talk about giving the new box the
same name as the old. I'd prefer to start with a new node name - even
if it means building a fresh database. Are there any instructions
anywhere on how to start fresh.

Some tips that should help.

Configure new box with the same config as the old box for each McAfee
application.

Either give it the same IP address as the old box, or point the current
DNS entry used by the old box to the new box.

You may be able to import the tree structure as well from your old box
(Export / Import avail from right click on tree).

Agents should try and connect to the old IP, see it is no longer there -
so they'll attempt to use DNS resolution. I think as a third failover,
they will try and use Wins...

Good Luck!
