it's generally not possible to diagnose a virus by symptoms... if you
think you have a virus, scan your drive...

Additional details. I can not delete messages in my inbox using outlook
express. I select the message, hit delete but the message does not delete. I
have run a lot of anti virus stuff but nothing seems to be wrong. thanks.

You might have too many deleted items. Outlook XP allows about 16000
messages in the folder

Still no luck in deleting email messages out of my inbox using MS Outlook
Express version 6.00.2800.1123 with a Windows ME operating system. Have
emptied out the delete folder, restarted, disconnected the cable many times.
Email setup using POP3. Had some luck deleting messages when transferring
them to a newly made folder then deleting the entire file. thanks for any
help.
