Hi all,
I need to choose between symantec endpoint security and etrust
antivirus packages.
My etrust license is about to expire so I thought I'd have a look at
these two packages to see which would be better.
Has anyone used either or both of these and can give me an opinion on
each package?
Symantec is a whole lot more expensive than CA, but if the features
outweigh the price I'll be happy to buy it ..
Just need to know if it is THAT much better..
I know it is more resource hungry, but with new computers I don't
believe it'd take that much from them.. >> Stay informed about: I need to choose between symantec and CA.. |

Naturally each company will tell you that their product is best .. Is
there an unbiased report on both that I could read?
I'm looking around and nobody is able to tell me whether one is better
than the other, least it be in a biased report.
I have approximately 200 computers to install the software in and
needs to be controlled and re-distributed to branches around the
country.
Can either Kaspersky or Eset do this?
e-trust is reasonably easy and quick to use and does most things on
its own.. But it seems a little flimsy in comparison to symantec (at
least when I used it a couple of years ago).. >> Stay informed about: I need to choose between symantec and CA.. |

Both have Enterprise capabilities. Both are superior to CA and Symantec albeit I don't know
how "great" their Enterprise management tools are. Personally I would choose an anti virus
software that has a poorer enterprise central management with a high malware detection rate
over softwasre that has excellent enterprise central management but a poorer detection rate.

I've seen the CA management console and it was Ok but nothing special,
as I recall.
The Kaspersky one looks good, and the feature set for the actual product
is very good.

Ivan,
David H. Lipman has given you the best possible advice.
Do a Google Groups advanced search in this newsgroup for the last three
years or so using "Norton" as your search term.
Repeat using "eTrust".
Read and learn.
Several true Anti-Virus experts hang out on this newsgroup. Listen to them.
You won't go wrong.
