Since McAfee 7.0 is installed on my computer I experience that the
Windows Explorer sometimes gets blocked:

Does not react to key commands like F2 to rename a file OR left click
on file is not showing a menu anymore. When I start a new Windows
Explorer Window via Workplace this new instance allows one rename and
then it is blocked too (it is still reacting to other mouse commands).
I think that the problems increase when McAfee is scanning in the
background. Other file tools like Total Commander have no problem
accessing these files.

Version of McAfee Security Center: Build 7.0.329
Active Modules: Virusscan, Mailscan, Firewall
Windows XP German (SP2 newest Patches installed)
My filesystem is NTFS and I am using some NTFS junction points.

Best regards,
Holger

I have tracked down the problem to the shell extension of McAfee. I
have disabled the shell extension with the tool ShellExView
(http://www.nirsoft.net) and afterwards blocking and the failing right
click menu disappeared. After reinstallation of McAfee the problem was
solved. The shell extension is now working as expected!?

Best regards,
Holger

Every product is available in single form - but the McAfee Security
Center I am using bundles:

-Virusscan
-Firewall
-Spamfilter
-Mailscanner
-Privacy addon
-Child protection

Holger
