Post subject: blacklisted list?
Archived from groups: alt>comp>virus (more info?)

I'm getting a lot of email bounced back to me from various companies,
sites, etc, saying that my address contained a virus...yet I never sent
this mail in the first place. I presume this is a common thing, to have
one's identity used be someone else. My question is: will my address
now be blacklisted. Is there some 'list' out there containg suspicious
addresses to be avoided that I, through no fault of my own, have now
been put onto? TIA.

It is common for worms to propogate by sending itself out from the infected
computer using the return addresses located in the address book and other
locations on the infected computer.

Most recent worms use fake From: addresses. Anybody who blacklists based on
known forged addresses is too goddamn stupid to send me email anyway. Don't
worry about it.

But let's be clear: It will be a _private_ blacklist that no one but the
idiots uses, and will almost certainly be an idiot that the OP doesn't know
and doesn't send email to anyway.

You're still talking about a private mail server run by a knucklehead, with
about two users. And there's nothing that can be done to prevent it, or
correct it, because he's obiously too stupid to understand what's going on.

Which is to say, idiots, as I said.

Anyone too stupid to figure out forged from addresses is too stupid to be
allowed to send me email. Anyone stupid enough to listen to such an idiot
is also too stupid to be allowed to send me email.
