Post subject: Norton antivirus
Archived from groups: alt>comp>anti-virus (more info?)

I keep on having to manually switch my norton antivirus Auto protect
on, every day as evertime I check its on, its switched back off again?
its like theres a ghost in the machine? any ideas? it wouldnt be a
trojan causing it would it?

Ghost is more likely. Worms and trojans are so rare ... ghosts on the other
hand ..

Seriously, there quite a bit of worms that does actually attempt to disable
AV software. It does not mean by definition of course that this is caused by
a ghost ... ehh ... worm.

A worm, very often is a process that you can actually see running in the
task manager, sometimes named to look like a genuine windows process. See
anything weird in there?

i had the same norton stated that it was a virus but hardly to find
I have reinstalled windows and now it is a way
it gace here that it had to be reinstalled
so its now okay
