Obviously, you didn't know anyone who lost a life, a loved one or
everything they owned. I did.

Sorry to hear that. I considered apologizing to those people deeply
affected (or who just can't take a joke), but many, perhaps even most
forms of humor are insulting to those other than the teller - this time
it was you. Maybe the next time you hear or even tell a joke at someone
elses expense you will remember this.

<alternative view>

USA don't want to know about climate change. What an eye opener for
them. Couldn't think of an nicer country for it to happen to.!

And why is that, do you think?

Why is fuel everywhere else ($7.75US per gallon UK) so much more
expensive? Get rid of your big 4x4's like everyone else. Wake up!

Get rid of all the gas powered vehicles; because when the oil is gone there
will be far more valuable things missing then just being able to drive
around in a vehicle. Have you ever thought about all the products that are
made out of crude oil? Just imagine a world without plastics! That is not
to even mention as the other products made out of crude oil, quite a lot of
which can *not* be made out of any substitute. Bio-Diesel can be grown from
crops well made out of crops grows and Willie Nelson even has his own
Bio-Diesel company to help out the farmers then can also make alcohol and
those types of gasoline's; but some of the things made out of crude oil as I
said just can *not* be made using substitutes, well at least not with our
current technology.
If a bunch terrorist wanted to cripple the world without harming people
directly all they would have to do would be to create a microbe or bacteria
that eats crude oil and set it loose on the world. A while back I even
heard of a company that was trying to create just such a critter to help in
the clean up of oil spills on the ocean. We all should be glad that wasn't
completed! Well at least I think it was curtailed, lets all hope it was!
But then again if such a critter was set loose, then after a few species
fell off the mountain tops; because of the ecosystem trying to get back into
equilibrium after the all out war between us humans that most likely would
flair up, the world might be better off.
