There are virus signature updates and there are program updates. If it
was a program update, the update may not occur until a reboot is
required (to allow renaming, deleting, or overwriting inuse files). Not
every AV vendor differentiates between signature and program updates but
they should (so you know BEFORE accepting the update if it will want to

Windows XP: IPv6 web browsing blocked by McAfee Virusscan .. - This is a strange thing with IPv6 web browsing on WinXP, probably caused by McAfee Virusscan version 9.0, and certainly solved by de-installing McAfee Virusscan. All my Windows XP machines (SP2) have native IPv6 connectivity: ping6, ssh, and telnet..
Mcafee VirusScan 6 - When I first installed Mcafee VirusScan 6 on Windows 98 over a year ago, it would scan for viruses during boot up. Then I configured it to prevent it from doing so, but now I want to get it back and cant remember how to do it, can anyone help? |
