Post subject: McAfee Virus Scan

About two months ago, I suddenly had to start rebooting my computer after
every online VirusScan update. Otherwise, the program remains disabled after
being updated.

Previously, all I ever had to do after installing the updates was press the
'finish" button , and the program would be re-enabled, ready to go without
having to reboot except when they came out with a new build. Anyone else
having this problem or possibly know how to correct it? OS is W2K with SP4.

We have seen this occasionally even in Xp pro. Who is logged in them you as
admin or as another user.

This was escalated but to date no update re the issue. If it bugs you you
can report it in the vs8 forum at www.mcafeehelp.com

Yes, I am logged in as the administrator, and do have the latest Mcafee
engine. Seems like one time I saw on the Mcafee site something about the
"temporary files not being deleted" when this happens. No explanation beyond
that or how to effectuate remedy. I guess I could try the standard Mcafee
answer to just about any type problem with their software:
uninstall/reinstall
