Archived from groups: alt>comp>anti-virus (more info?)

Hi all,

I have just noticed that something has been leaving a "thumbs" file in many
of my nfolders on my server. Does anyone know what program would do that?
Is it spyware?.

When I click on the file it says it is a .db file of unspecific origin. All
our virus checkers are up to date, and I have checked each machine with the
latest version of Spysweeper as well.

Any thooughts?

Rod

It is a Windows system file. To my knowledge it is used to store the way
you want to see the files in the Windows Explorer (detail, tiles, mini...)

Any picture viewer can do that, to avoid re-reading and compressing the
icon-sized graphics files, each time you open that specific directory.
I've got them, too, and even several from different viewers (one is
Paint Shop Pro, the other one Thumbs Plus)

Ah, Information. A good, too valuable these days, to give it away, just
so, at no cost.

Thanks,
Just discussed with my son, and evidently it is a file Photoshop leaves when
he searches for files.

Actually it's a Windows file, not Photoshop, when you change the view
properties to thumbnail.
