Post subject: System restore problem with Panda Titanium 2004
Archived from groups: alt>comp>anti-virus (more info?)

Hi

I'm running Win XP on a reasonably high spec box.
Since updating my Panda AV to 2004, I am unable to use system restore. I can
create restore points manually, and they are created automatically OK.
However, when I attempt a restore it fails with an error message:

Your system cannot be restored to: (date)

System restore will work OK from safe mode. If I temporarily uninstall
Panda, all is OK. Has anyone else had this, and if so is there a resolution
please?

Chris

No problem here. XPHome, Platinum Internet Security. Otherwise, don't
know!

Thanks for your reply. I have run Titanium for a year OK. The problem only
happened after I upgraded to 2004 as part of my annual subscription renewal.
Panda tech support here (UK) have failed to reply to both emails I've sent
them so far. It's not looking good.....

I started off with 2004 so didn't upgrade. I did have need to contact
them and they did respond, after several days though!
Have you removed all traces of Titanium as well as just removing it?
Then re-install.
Good luck.

Hi Gillie

Yes, I can uninstall and system restore works OK. As soon as I re-install,
system restore goes through the normal process but ends with the Restore
Incomplete error message.

It's not the end of the world as I'm finding XP to be really stable
(compared to ME!), I would just like to solve it.

If I get a reply back from Panda, I'll repost.

Thanks for your help,

Chris

Are you using just the Anti-virus or have you got Internet Security
2004? If you have Panda IS, the version I'm using is 8.03.00. Thought
you may not have the latest? Just a thought.
Good luck.
