Actually, practically all newsreaders (except OE) will automatically
trim off any content below the sig delimiter "-- ", getting it right.
You place your sig above the replied content.

I'm going to move my sig above this last line or yours. Open this post
in Thunderbird, or any other than OE, and try to reply to it. Notice
how this text is sort of .. gray.

OE gets it wrong unless you use QuoteFix and specify to place your sig
at the bottom ... <g>

i'm using the mozilla suite, so it's mozilla mail rather than
thunderbird.... and the format problem is the interpretation by
standards compliant readers that sig delimiters mark the end of the
message and the beginning of the sig... and since people don't
generally reply to sigs, everything after the delimiter can be omitted
from the quotation..

Yep, it sure does !

Mozilla based News Client's interprets "--"

Interesting but I'm not switching from OE to Thunderbird -- yet.

I will no longer have a Signature that includes "--"

A proper sig delimiter is not "--" but "-- ". Two dashes followed by a
space and a newline. Swipe your mouse over yours, then over mine.
Note the space.

After a few tests I see the OE auto-generates the "--" and not me and not "-- "

I will state this. * * I will change for YOU Kurt ! * *

I am not ready to switch News Clients so I'm sticking with OE however, I am now going to use
Qutoe-Fix and reply at the bottom. While I have been asked *many* times to Bottom post and
said no. I will change my habits for those people, who are now increasing in numbers, who
use Mozilla based News Clients.

However, I am not changing my opinion on yEnc encoded attachments Wink

One more (well, two) favor, Dave... could you change your word wrap to
around 72 to 76 characters, and switch to the standard quoting
character of ">" instead of the vertical bar? We would appreciate
that. Thanks.

this is a very "special" usenet-/posting-behavior of David. I posted
with him politely about that a few weeks ago. He defended his behavior
and was not willing to accept any argument against his behavior Sad

BTW: David often could shorten the quoting part(s) because of unnessary
wasting bandwidth and practize bottom posting instead of top posting to
make threads/postings more readable, IMHO. Nevertheless otherwise David
seems to be a pleasent "regular" for this newsgroup more than often
helping people having problems.

(Please excuse my bad English. It's my 4th foreign language only).

Nice weekend,

I ignored you because you are so *bloody annoying* !

I changed *only* because of the way Mozilla products interpret posts for reply messages.

I am willing to change for someone like Kurt who actullay posts substance in the AV News
Groups.

sorry, I did *NOT* want to annoy you but only recommended you a usual
way of posting that probably make your postings a bit easier to handle.
That my recommendation probably have not been too bad show the finally
results now based on Kurt's same/similar recommendations. IMHO,
primarely arguments should count! Accepting recommendation not from me
but from Kurt IMHO is not very logically.

Let's live in peace, David.
