Norton is now charging $29.- for a yealy subscription renewal,
its not much but its like buying the program again every year.
I was thinking of switching to Panda, do they do the same thing?
Or is there a better alternative? I get email with Netscape 7.2.

Has Netscape past 4.79 been any good for anybody yet?????????

I don't know the re-up rate for Panda yet; but thanks for confirming my opinion
that Norton is overcharging for their re-ups! $29 - yeesh!

I'm just a lurker here and don't usually respond, but I have learned so very
much. This question, however, doesn't require tech knowledge, just personal
experience so here goes.........
We have just REMOVED Panda Titanium from 2 machines after 6 months of
frustration because of constant problems with updates failing, scheduled
scans not running or crashing partway through, EXTREMELY slow shutdowns and
startups, plus firewall problems with loss of connectivity to our server,
and lousy support. They have failed to respond to email requests for days
at a time and want to charge money for phone help when their program
continually crashes. Since removing Panda, both XP Pro machines boot
significantly faster. I would advise looking elsewhere and good luck!!!

Does anyone have any better suggestions since we are now looking to PURCHASE
another antivirus program for our small network? Do you think Panda will
refund half our purchase price? (g)

They may, Nancy, it's worth a try.
eTrust EZArmor Antivirus and Firewall would be my best guess.
There are some other, free programs out there, i.e. Sygate Personal
Firewall, for instance, but eTrust EZArmor is the best in my subjective
opinion. But don't take my word for it, just listen around a bit in this
neighborhood.

Harry, old and found out the hard way.

eTrust antivirus is the cat's meow when it comes to av programs in my
opinion. Give it a look.
