When I try to Open/Browse/Save a file in an program (eg Windows Explorer,
Word etc) my system hangs for about 10-15 seconds before proceeding. I've
tracked it down to McAfee Virusscan 7 Pro which I only installed a couple of
days ago, as the problem disappears when I disable it. I suspect that it
the system scan which is doing it.

1. Is this a known problem with McAfee Virusscan and is there anything I can
do to fix it?

2. Is it possible to turn-off system scan and only have email scan?

Any help would be appreciated.

that's probably a safe thing to say... you do realize, of course, that
connecting to the internet puts you on a network...

Meanwhile, I'd advise people to leave email scan on. Smile

A less risk approach would be to filter email at the server, giving the mail
recipient the option as to what to receive and what to reject. Of course,
that assumes one knows what that is to begin with.
