Archived from groups: alt>comp>virus (more info?)

I have Ad-aware SE successfully running on both a WinXP system and a
Win98 se system. However, the Win98 se system fails to update,
yielding the message "Error retriving updates". I can update manually
by going to the Lavasoft site, however this is inconvenient and
shouldn't be necessary. Any suggestions? I have no problems with the
WinXP system.

Thanks, Richard

Do you have the proxy ticked in update configuration?adaware>update>
configuration...if so untick it (assuming you are not using any proxy
that is).

Many thanks bassbag! Unchecking "HTTP Proxy" fixed the problem. I
have no idea just how it came to be checked initially! Auto update
works fine now and as I said, manual update always worked, but was
obviously less convenient Smile.
