My license just ran out for NOD32. And as of this writing, I have not
renewed. It's only been a few days since it expired.

I was reading the reviews on Download.com re the latest versions of
Avast and AVG. Do you think overall they are good enough as not to
spend the extra money?

No Anthony, spend the money and renew Eset NOD32!

BTW: The free version of Avira AntiVir is better than BOTH Avast and AVG.

You didnt mind the pop up which showed a thief in the shadows, with the text
telling us that people right now are likely to be stealing your identity,
and using your credit card to fund terrorism and child pornography?

The kind of advertising winfixer would be proud of.

Plus the download servers seem very slow, updates often fail and can
take up to twenty minutes to finish and several attempts.

It certainly does NOT bother me and I don't believe it rises to the level of 'nagware'.

Exactly how does this relate to the original question?

Who would be better sticking with what he has now NOD32

Winfixer is a malware group family name known most notable for malware called WinFixer but
is associated with the Vundo Trojan and the Virtumonde Adware and are all associated with
Amaena.Com

It isnt a popup coming from a browser, but part of the antivir software, on
completion of update it shows you a program screen, which takes up most of
your desktop pimping their paid for products.

If you are unaware of winfixer, i am not sure why you are even posting on a
board about security.
