PROBLEM WITH McAFEE V7

Hi All,

I have McAfee V7 installed on my computer. For the past 2 weeks I have
been getting notices popping up on my monitor that tell me that my data file
subscription is going to expire soon. Unfortunately, I waited too long and last
Saturday I got a message that my subscription had expired, with 2 buttons on the
bottom asking me to choose to renew or cancel. I clicked on renew, which brought
me to their website. I paid my $19.95 and renewed, and downloaded their
VSCUpdat.exe file, but when I run it, I get a message that my version is already
expired and cannot be renewed.

I've been on McAfee's chat site for 4 nights already with their techs,
and none of them can help me, or maybe they DON'T WANT to help me. There must be
a registry entry that triggers this "expired" message. Maybe they are told not
to reveal that entry. I'm afraid if I uninstall and reinstall V7, the registry
entry will not be removed and I will wind up with the same thing. If I go to V8,
I must uninstall V7, and if that registry entry is still there, I bet that that
message still comes up.

Has anyone had any experience with this, or possibly fixed it ???
