Archived from groups: alt>comp>anti-virus (more info?)

I have Yahoo/DSL and they recently switched to Norton anti-virus,
which renders my system useless. Also, I downloaded McAffee software
from AOL which totally clobbered my system.

I was getting beaucoup pop-ups, downloaded StopZilla. Still got em.

I did switch to Mozilla, which controls the pop-ups better ... now the
only ones I get are Explorer pop-ups even though I don't use Explorer.

But, I'm thinking a virus is gonna get me ....

What to do ??????????????

You could try AVG antivirus and Spyware Terminator (both freeware), and make
sure the Windows Firewall is turned ON.

Regarding Spyware Terminator be aware that it may be bundled with the
Crawler Toolbar and Web Security Guard. You can opt out during the
installation if you don't want these, but they may be pre-selected to
install if you don't uncheck the boxes. You can find out more about these
products on the spyware terminator web site.
