I have no idea how this company's files got on this computer but they
are exploiting vulnerabilities in IE6 and I can't get them to stop
poping up they sell adds for casinos and hotels, better performance for
your computer etc etc
I went the the companied website and clicked on the link to remove the
code that didn't do it
but I have found it's associated with a file called keyword.exe
renaming the file no brings up a blank browser but it still pops up
Also does anyone know what a msg118.dll is asscosiated with?
and finally How does one get rid of Bundleware .com's exe
that I think has an add for a "better internet"
Ad aware 6 is good at finding these thing but it doesn't get rid of
the stuff
Is this stuff a virus or is it just a pain in the butt advetising?
I renamed the temp dir and the bw.exe "reappeared at the next bootup"
how do I get rid of this stuff?

Mozilla on Linux (me-yes daughter-no=daughter wins (for now)
Her reasoning is at school they have and use Micro$haft, if this house
were to become Linux she would be out of the loop, and feel inferior
to her classmates
What this hijacking of the browser is doing for me is cementing the
real advantage of peer review and open scource in the stability of the
final product. When you get into the Microsoft OS, it really is a
leaky boat with "a lot" of holes
as it is, I've narrowed it down to www look2me com.
it's downloading programs (and viruses) into the computer for hijack
attempts,Why the viruses were there last night who knows, it defeats
the purpose of what they want to do. I've tried the spyware stuff
that you recommended (and other software too but even booting to the
command prompt and trying to delete the msg118.dll file wasn't
possible. This morning my homepage was hijacked again and I was locked
out of changing it (I am the administrator) and all the other internet
settings.
It's already to the point of reformatting the HD and starting over
again, it won't be the first time and it probably won't be the last.
for now I'll block the addresses at the router so I get the routers
block page that will give me a break from fighting viruses and
trojuns.
again thanks a bunch for the help

Have your daughter talk her class mates into visiting the web site that
caused the hijack; this will make them and the teacher learn to think .

I know this is nothing like nice, but if they don't learn by advice,
they'll have to learn by pain.

Ah, Information. A good, too valuable these days, to give it away, just
so, at no cost.
