I'm trying to install the free version of Grisoft's AVG, but when I
run the setup program (avg6665fu_free.exe), it asks me if I want to
install the Microsoft .NET SDK. If I say "no" setup exits. If I say
"yes", it installs the SDK and then exits.
I never get to the point of entering a serial number. I installed the
SDK 3 times, rebooting in between. No luck.
Thanks in advance for suggestions,

I have had AVG6 fro 2 years, and I have uninstalled it and downloaded and
done a new install, and I did not get the request to install the Microsoft
..NET SDK. I entered the serial number obtained on the web and it all
installed without incident.
I have not heard of this happening before. What OS do you have?

Ahmm........I'm not the OP, but, perhaps they will read your suggestion here
anyway.

I probably had 200 installation programs of one type or another in
that directory. Moving the AVG installer to another directory allowed
it to install normally.
I'm looking forward to see how this program works out. Maintaining
paid antivirus subscriptions for an old, infrequently-used machine is
a problem.
Thanks for the assist,

Thank you for letting us know the solution to the problem.
