Did you first uninstall 7.5 Trial (with, I believe, selecting remove
user settings and virus vault) before installing 7.5 Free?

Go to the above site. Click on "Download "Free" version.
Install over your current 7.1 version as a "repair install"
Or, uninstall AVG and install the new FREE Ver 7.5 as a new install.
