Post subject: Disable BIOS AV?

Hi,

It appears that a friend needs to reinstall Win 98SE, but it says it
cannot install because the BIOS AV is preventing it.

Neither he (directly), nor I (via telephone) can figure out how to
disable the BIOS AV

Award software inc.
ROM PCI/ISA BIOS P55SS-ML v 4.51pg

Please assist.

it's one of the options in the cmos setup... when he boots he needs to
press the magic button that enters the cmos setup (which key it is
differs from one manufacturer to another but it should say on the
screen during the power on self test what key to press)...

the option should say something about anti-virus or bootsector
protection...
