Sorry if I seem pessimistic, but who are you?

Your website is registered to PARSDATA Corporation, with
a UK address, and an Iranian phone number.

parsdata.com is registered with a Tehran address, and appear
to be a regular webhosting company.

On your website, the only page accesible from the home page,
is the contact page, which only has the email address. All
other links go to "page not found".

If you want to get into providing security software, I strongly
suggest you be up front about who you are, with full contact
information in your whois data, and on your contact page.

While checking to see if your software has any reviews, I found
that you seem to be the author of the review on
http://www.securityfocus.com/tools/4491

On http://www.download.com/VA-Venak-and-Avenak-/3000-2239_4-10656508.html
Publisher's description of VA (Venak and Avenak)
From thecrackers_group

You're using the name "thecrackers_group"? While I'm quite familiar
with the difference the media uses for hacker, and cracker, I expect
many of your target audience are not.

http://www.appreadiness.com/Lists/Logo/DispForm.aspx?ID=7400 also
shows the company name as thecrackers_group

http://www.geocities.com/thecrackers_group/contact.htm again,
only has an email address, for contact.

Running a google search on "Venak AND Avenak" shows 62 hits, with
all of those I checked being announcments about it. No third party
reviews.

Why would you expect anyone to trust your security software, when
they have no idea who you are, and no reputation built by third
party analysis, and review? Being anonymous can be accepted,
with trusted third party reviews. Without any trusted third
party reviews, and being anonymous, I'd have to strongly suggest
to anyone asking, that they avoid your website and software.

If you are serious about providing security software, you really
have some work cut out for you, in building a reputation.

Regards, Dave Hodgins

AV detection of malware during real-time web browsing (cac.. - Has anyone ever had the experience that their AV software has alerted them to *something*, in real time, as you were accessing a web site (ie surfing the net)? To choose AV /malware scanner(s) - I have used quite a few scanners for a while now. If any of the top ranked AV-scanners (also OL versions) is used the low ranked ones does not contribute. SpyBot and Adaware more or less take the same malware. When I have done this some of the lower....

Heuristics detection? - Does anyone know which AV scanners managed to detect Netsky (or other similar viruses) without the relevant sig update i.e. on the basis of heuristic detection? Gareth.
