Archived from groups: alt>comp>virus (more info?)

Had a friend in chat tell me that she couldn't access her emails through
Outlook Express, with AVG's email scanner activated. The solution to her
problem I found was with AVG in the email scanners configuration.

Since her internet provider Verizon uses "incoming" and "outgoing" in place
of "Pop3." and "Smtp." the host: automatic settings which are default for
AVG will not work, and will have to be modified. Click on pop3 entry under
servers, click Modify. Change Automatic to fixed host. then enter
"incoming.verizon.net." (no quotes) and click ok.

Repeat above the proceedure for smtp and enther "outgoing.verizon.net"
click ok. Problem solved.
