I somehow got the "Internet Optimizer" hijacker on my IE6. Any ideas how to
remove it?

You can download an application called HijackThis. It's a 150kb zip file.
Extract it. Run it. It will create a log which should tell you which changes
the hijacker has made to your system. There are forums you can visit to help
you interpret the log files it creates and you can get recommendations from
forum visitors as to how to get rid of the problem. Do a Google on
HijackThis.
